Item groups categorise your products — by brand, category or range. Items filed into groups are easier to find while billing and give you group-wise sales/stock reports.

In detail

Created on the item-group screens (List tab → Product → Group, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4); up to four levels, with a parent hierarchy on level 1.

Step by step
  1. Open it — List tab → Product → Group (or Group 2 / 3 / 4), then Add.
  2. Enter the Name; for level 1, pick an Under parent if you want nesting.
  3. Press Ctrl+S to save; the group now appears in the Item screen's group boxes.
Key points
  • Level 1 (Group): Name plus an optional parent (Under) — so you can nest, e.g. Biscuits under Food.
  • Levels 2–4 (Group 2/3/4): simple one-field classifications (e.g. Brand / Sub-brand / Range).
  • The on-screen names of the four group boxes are set in the Control Room (‘ItemGroup1 Name’…‘ItemGroup4 Name’) — a blank name hides that box entirely.
Example
Organising a kirana store. Group = Biscuits, Group 2 = Parle (brand). Now the Stock report grouped by these shows stock and sales per category and per brand.
Tip
Group boxes are often created inline from the Create/Alter links on the Item screen, so you rarely open this standalone.
Tip
If a customer's screen shows different box names (e.g. ‘Brand’ instead of ‘Group 2’), that's the Control Room naming — same feature.

item-group screens पर बनाया जाता है (List tab → Product → Group, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4); चार level तक, level 1 पर parent hierarchy के साथ।

Step by step
  1. इसे खोलें — List tab → Product → Group (या Group 2 / 3 / 4), फिर Add।

Tip
